The Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD) is one of the Research & Development units of the Department of Atomic Energy as shown here.

The Directorate is headed by Director who is assisted by Additional Directors, Regional Directors, Head Groups, Incharge, Planning and Management Services Group, Chief Administrative and Accounts Officer and Deputy Controller of Accounts.

The Central Headquarter of the Directorate is located at Hyderabad. For implementing the mandate of the Directorate, the geographic area of the country is divided into Seven Regions, each under the administrative control of a Regional Director who controls and executes the work through groups, sections and laboratories of that region.
