RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT - 2005, (Section - 4)

Under the Right To Information Act passed by Indian Parliament and published in the Gazette of India on 21st June 2005, and under Section 4 of the Right To Information Act, 2005 the following particulars are made available on the Website of Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research.

Powers and duties of its officers. : Director, AMD has been designated as overall authority and holds all the financial and administrative powers. These powers are further delegated to Additional Directors, Regional Directors, Heads, and Incharges for effective management of the Organisation.

Additional Director (Op-I) has operational control over Northern Region, Eastern Region, North Eastern Region, South Central Region, Drilling Group, Beach Sand & Offshore Investigations Group, Instrumentation Group, Atomic Minerals Stockpile Accounting, Mining Plan Approval, Construction & Engineering Services Group, Environmental Management Cell.

Additional Director (Op-II) has operational control over Southern Region, Western Region, Central Region, Airborne Survey & Remote Sensing Group, Exploration Geophysics Group.

Additional Director (R&D) has operational control over RMRE Group, Physics Group, Chemistry Group, Mineralogy-Petrology-Geochronology Group, Geomodeling, Human Resources Development Group, Material Management Group, Scientific & Technical Resources Centre, Publications Group, Public Awareness, Safety Unit, Research & Development, Geostandards Programme, Training School.

AMD issues Mine Plan Approval for mining operations of atomic minerals and other prescribed substances. AMD also Recognises Qualified Persons for preparation of mining plans for atomic minerals and prescribed substances.
